Ordinary light is unpolarized because the photons are emitted in a random manner, while sun rays
reflected have photons emitted coherently (horizontally polarized). Polarized lenses, are the only lenses which can stop these horizontal rays. They actually correct the light that hits them, straightening out each sunray in order to have it crossing only on the horizontal axis. This is the precise reason why only a single ray of light reaches our eyes while any other reflected glare is always blocked.
The polarized coefficient (or polarized efficiency) is a value indicating the glare percentage that is blocked by the polarized lens. The polarized coefficient of a lens is proportional to the tint degree of the polarized inner film. The higher this value is (99% for darker colors) the higher the reduction of glare.
Polarized sunglasses have been used for years by boaters and fisherman in order to protect and improve vision. However, in the past few years, the benefits of polarized sunglasses have been realized by a variety of other outdoor sports enthusiasts as well as by general use wearers.
Indeed the popularity of polarized lenses has increased dramatically thanks to their benefits and advantages to wearers, such as: |
